President's Report
Robert and ride leaders provided the following ride reports
Steelworks ride - it was a good ride down to Woolongong with 19 people participating, the tour was interesting and accommodation reasonable. The evening meal was excellent.
Coolonglook ride -this ride went via Lakes Way to Froffy Coffee and then on to the Salty Dog for lunch. It was a very hot day, Kevin and another member were left behind at Froffy Coffee but soon caught up to the main group.
Black & Brown ride - it had been raining for the week before the ride but was OK on the day. Two cruisers and 2 enduros headed out on the Herrins Creek to Comboyne Rd. It was very rocky and rutted which made for slow going. Two river crossings were encountered and the guys on cruisers got seriously wet from the spray. A long muddy patch claimed one cruiser for a short while. The ride ended at Comboyne due to the conditions experienced. John will choose more friendly graded dirt roads for a rerun in 2012.
Branch Christmas party - went well with 59 attendees, the venue was good and there were no complaints about the food. Thanks to Rowena for organizing this event and thanks to Father Christmas, who had a jolly old time handing out presents.
Wingham to Harrington Salvo's Toy Run - this was a very successful run with 260 people participating, 20 being from MNCB. About $2500 was raised and the salvo's were very pleased with the number of gifts for teenagers. Kevn & Jackie joined 50 volunteers on Monday to sort out the gifts into 400 packs.
Lunch today will be at Kew pub as the club has no cook - 16 members had lunch at the pub
Robert advised that Wayne had been talking to the owners of PMQ Motorcycles on Hastings River Drive who have invited the branch to hold a sausage sizzle at their shop on the next ride day they host to promote the branch.
