Sids and Kids Rally

A small group of bikes met at Hexham McDonalds to ride as a Branch group to the old railway sheds at the Newcastle Foreshore to register for the event.

In all there were 26 bikes including those from our Branch, from Lake Macquarie, Upper Hunter and a couple of other riders. There were 34 four wheels drives, many from Raymond Terrace 4WD Club as well as Gold Eagle 4WD Club.

We set off around 10am, the bikes heading east around the ocean front and the 4WD’s heading west along Hunter Street. We followed the Ocean around to Merewether then off through Charlestown to Belmont and back around the lake to Warners Bay.

The 4WD’s passed along the waterfront at Warners Bay at the same time that the bikes were heading around the back road then onto Cardiff. We then headed onto the by-pass road, past the John Hunter, through Broadmeadow and back into the Newcastle Foreshore

It was a hot day and all the traffic lights seemed to turn red as we approached. We were all glad to return to the foreshore where there was cool breeze blowing and we could get a cold drink

The 4WD’s returned not long after the bikes. A raffle was held to raise some much needed funds for the cause.
