Mattara 2009
After a week of inclement weather, the morning dawned bright and sunny as we assembled at Hexham Maccas with 10 members of the Central Coast branch on 7 bikes.
32 bikes in all with 1 side car left Maccas for the short ride to Honeysuckle where we assembled.
We had about an hour’s grace to take in the carnival atmosphere before regrouping at the muster point to wait to start the parade. Marion was made happy with one of her “sons” presenting her with a bucket of fairy floss – which she managed to keep to herself and not share. We noticed the clouds building as we were waiting and we thought that our good luck had deserted us but after just a few drops of rain the clouds decided to leave us and head out to sea.
A group of 6 bikes from the Good Time Cruisers joined us for the parade and Jon on his blue trike turned up trying to squeeze in forgetting that he had the 2 wheels behind him, nearly running over a few of the member’s toes.
After an exciting time crawling along behind Elmo (otherwise known as the Red Power Ranger) who had a ball playing up to the kids, we made it to the park where we had a photo in front of the Agm banner with the Roulettes doing acrobatics in the sky about us.
Some of us went back to the club for lunch where we shared lots of good laughs and stories.
Wonderful day had by all.
