Another Sunday trip to somewhere; in this case Wombat Flats or to be more exact the Pub at Wombat Flats. Now most of us people were asking where in the hell is Wombat Flats!!

So lets start the journey. The meeting place was the Caltex at Nicholls and true to form I was only expecting a handful, but again I was wrong as about 29 turned up and it was fantastic. Not only the mandatory Sunday riders but the suprise was seeing Flip back from the big sheep paddock across the Trench with her ever faithful companion "Shorna".

Pete Arday delivered the sermon on which way the group was going, of course no one paid any attention but it was a case of follow the leader, so we departed sharply ay 0920 (based on a 0900 start).

All things went well, everyone was aware that was a "Double Demerit Point Weekend" so most of us kept below the sound barrier until a most welcome pit stop at Boorowa. The poor Pastry Shop didn't know what hit them when we arrived en mass and demanded liquid and solid refreshments. Of course the service drew to an almost stand still (a sign of things to come!!) but after an hour the traveling party was refreshed and eager to go.

Now at this point a second lot prayers were offered to the road God as to which route would be the best, and in typical Ulyssian style no on could agree so Padre Peter made the command desicion to travel thru Murringo to Young, so far so good. Coming into Young and negotiating out onto the Cootamundra Rd proved an interesting piece of navigation, of course GPS John knew where he was (GPS = YOUNG!!!!) Travelling down the Cotta Rd we finally turned off at Wombat Flats Pub.Hi Vis Trevor

Pete Arday had notified them beforehand that we were arriving, but I dont think they were expecting so many, anyway, food orders were placed, and we waited.... and waited...and waited....and waited, those who ordered the roast beef were lucky, those wanted something different well, what can I say, they waited....waited . Now unknown to us, another motorcycle group had booked and arrived en mass along with a token on local HD riders in the mandatory shorts t-shirts (almost candidates for the Darwin award), so lunch almost turned into dinner, and the poor proprietor was having appaplexy trying to cater for the hordes.

While enjoying our lunch (for those who were fed), Flip was welcoming Shorna into the Club, however, I think the Pres should have a word to her about keeping her fingers out of Shorna's bum. Everytime she did it Shona would baaa with delight (new batteries did help!!!). Im worried about Flip, I don't think NZ was too successful if all she came back with is Shorna. But on the bright side she is driving a BMW something?? one has to debate her wisdom after the Virago!!!

Anyway after everyone got fed around 3:00pm, including Peter A, the touring group decided to drive to Binalong for desert, and to satisfy Gary's insatable ice cream pangs.Gary Dreams of Ice Cream

From there everyone split and went home.
