WAGGA WAGGA – 6/4/08DogontheTuckerbox

13 Riders and 3 Pillions turned out to ride to Wagga to sample Mick’s Bakehouse Pies which won prizes at the Royal Easter Show. No rain in sight as we rode off.

After the usual slow start due to ‘Sunday drivers’ intent on getting in our way, we reached Hall and then were able to pick up speed. We had a great and uneventful ride via Binalong and Harden to our coffee break at Cootamundra. Having refreshed, we continued our journey to Wagga. Riding from Cootamundra to Wagga through the villages of Bethungra and Illabo was just a perfect way to spend a beautiful Autumn Sunday.

In Wagga we found parking near Mick’s Bakehouse and decended upon it for lunch. Luckily there were other greasy spoons nearby as the Bakehouse closed 30 minutes earlier that I had been told, so we had less than an hour there and there was very little of choice of pies available, so some of our group dined elsewhere.

Lunch finished, fuelled up and ready to head home when we found that some-one had decided to do roadworks on the turn-off to Wantabadgory. A quick stop at a local store saw us back on the right track.

Great ride through Wantabadgery and Nangus.

Last stop for the day was at Gundagai, about as far as Garry McCurley could go without an icecream! A couple of pix in front of the ‘Dog’, goodbyes and then home.
