RIDE REPORT - TARALGA 24th June

Seventeen bikes [from 535cc to 1800 cc] plus three pillions, braved the close to zero temperature at the start to the ride. All was clear and sunny till after Bungundore when we encountered very wet fog. The coffee break at Lake Bathurst was not hurried so fingers could thaw. Comfort food was consumed and top marks were given for the Devonshire Tea.

The sun appeared again before Goulburn and the ride enjoyed good road surfaces and nice twisty hills till Taralga. Spent some time soaking up the sun in the main street, shooting the breeze and inspecting each others bikes.

The hotel had a great slow combustion stove and pool table to draw us inside. The food was hearty, reasonably priced and the staff friendly. The dining room was very flash.

Room rate is $44 per night per person for bed and continental breakfast and has a capacity of about 20. Very clean rooms with bathrooms at the end of the hall.

We refueled at Goulburn, by the relocated giant Marino without legs [photo in last RO2], then took the highway south.

Thanks ride team for organizing the ride and Peter for leading it.
