ILLAWARRA FLY RIDE - 7th Nov

Sunday morning saw the dedicated ones not afraid of the elements arrive at BP Watson nice and early. Some of the opposition (BMW crowd) were gathered but not sure if we were the ones that they were due to meet. Sad for them, they missed out on a great day.

7 Bikes and one car set off from BP Watson headed to Tarago, Windellama, Bungonia and Marulan. Countryside was fabulous and green, local cow cocky’s in 4WD’s taking rubbish to their tip thought motor bikes were just incidental pieces of machinery not to be too concerned about.

Usual coffee break at Marulan and getting to know some new members Jo, Helen and Hartmut over a chit chat was fun. Jo and Helen had their daughter Jess follow us in her car. I think poor Jess had one interesting experience on some back roads not seen before.

Marulan to Illawarra Fly via Exeter, Robertson was a pleasant ride. Arriving at the Fly the weather was fantastic, lovely clear sky’s 23 degrees temp, outstanding vistas across the escarpment, watching the power boats race in the distance, sorry St Pedro but St Chas now for the 2nd visit has had nothing but the best of weather.

Off to walk the Fly after meeting friends of Jo and Helen who rode their bike up from Nowra. Jan Wills must be congratulated beyond doubt for the courage she endured coming all the way on, along and off the cantilever walkway. Well done Jan.

Trip home via Wildes Meadow gave us a look at how the gentry live. The rural establishments were something to see. Mega Millions needed. Finally back through Exeter to Sally’s Corner for a refuel, coffee and farewells.
