Ulysses Canberra Branch 2

Gunning and Crookwell via Grabben Gullen.

The Opening of a New Road - or rather the opening of a newly sealed old road. NewDirectionforOldWays

( nevertheless, a reasonably rare event)

The Upper Lachlan Shire Tourism Manager, Scott Pollack, invited the branch to participate in the "opening" of the newly sealed road that links Gunning and Crookwell via Grabben Gullen.

29 bikes gathered at the usual place and rode to Gunning for a pit stop, then onto the new road. The official openingwas just past the Biala turnoff, and the ribbon cutting was by the mayor,John Shaw and other Shire dignitaries. The Member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson was also there.

The ribbon cut, the bikes moved off and road to the Albion Hotel at Grabben Gullen for a BBQ lunch, joined by the mayor and the other participants in the event. The completed road is expected to be a boon to tourism in the area - certainly we will make use of it!! "
