Doohan it for Dennis:
Not all the events we Ulyssians attend are rides and fun - sometimes, there are more serious matters to attend to. One such was the fundraising dinner for Dennis Hindle’s family, organized by his friends and colleagues from Canberra Motorcycle Centre.
Dennis Hindle’s life was tragically cut short on his way to work on the morning of Tuesday 13 March, 2007.
He left behind a wife and four children. Dennis made a huge impact on those around him.
His commitment, humor and ability to relate to people stood him out from the crowd. Whilst Dennis made a lasting impact, his ability to provide for his family was cut short.
On the 5th September , Dennis’ friends and colleagues organised a fundraiser ‘Doohan it for Dennis’ - a one-off night to help secure the future for Dennis’s wife Simone and their family.
Supported by the presence of Kevin McGee and Mick Doohan and some serious bidding for memorabilia and Honda motorcycles, the night was deemed a huge success and was a fantastic effort by all concerned.
Of the many folk from Canberra’s motorcycling community some thirty plus Canberra Branch Ulyssians showed their support. A few of the Ulyssian contingent can be seen below.
