Tarago/Bungendore   29th May

‘Ferret Derby’?, I hear you say…

Yes, here we are, all nine of us (well, Gary was hiding behind the camera!) holding up the Loaded Dog in Tarago, waiting for the Ferret races to begin. Shame that wasn’t going to be till 3.00pm!

The morning started off under a beautiful sunny autumn day at BP Watson. A small group of Decide and Ride(r’s) and Rusty Riders standing around trying to D (decide) which direction we should R (ride), when someone offered “there are ferret races in Tarago…” Well, that was it. Decision made.

Eleven bikes headed out along the Federal Highway at a leisurely pace towards Bungendore via Macs Reef Road and Smiths Gap. Meanwhile, John and Helmut had decided it was time to discover Currawang Road for themselves. After waiting for us at Tarago, they back-tracked and headed off to Wakefield Park via Currawang Road.

Nine bikes turned right at the Loaded Dog, and headed back to Bungendore via Doughboy and the Kings Highway for a group munch (we found a table set just for us!) at Bardy’s Bungendore Café. It happened to be up for sale, anyone interested in a UC consortium?Too early for the Ferret Races
