After the usual discussions, catch ups and jokes, we decided that there needs to be another measure of time - Eastern Ulysses Time or EUT – it’s way more flexible than EST. We shall adopt EUT at all our rides henceforth….

So around 10.00ish or a bit later (who cares) we headed off for the Yacht Club – so close to OPH we barely got into top gear….There were heaps of people there, and we found ourselves a place we could spread out….as we do! Handing the responsibility for the security of our bikes to the guy painting the boats (he wasn’t going anywhere fast…), most of us headed straight for the coffee van for a heart starter.

Once the kids realised where we were, it was a constant line up for a ride – luckily some of us weren’t taking pillions so were able to help the kids into and out of the riding jackets, gloves and helmets – I have to tell you, watching those kids break into huge smiles was just the best!! Of course, Derek and the outfit were very popular, but I don’t think any of the riders had much time for a break – it was drop a kid off, suit the next one up and take off again….

Pete Major had just come down “just for a few rides” – he didn’t leave till it was over!! And the kids who couldn’t quite get on a bike had a ball sitting on Sylvia’s Silverwing.
